The floodgates opened to drain the heavy rains: BMA
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has opened all the gates of the east after several hours of heavy rain on the capital. The rains, which started around 2 Wednesday, is likely to continue for the next few days.
BMA drainage Adisak Khantee office said the city saw the maximum precipitation accumulated in Min Buri (80 milliliters) and Din Daeng (83 mm), while the water level in the channels were on the rise. The office and decided to open all the gates in eastern Bangkok to drain excess water from Bangkok in preparation for expected rains. Officials continue to monitor the situation, especially since large influx of seawater is expected tomorrow.
